Bobby Abreu reaches the 2,000 hit milestone with his SSK bat.

SSKfs Major League Baseball advisory staff member, Bobby Abreu, of the Los Angeles Angels, hit his 2,000th career hit off right-hander Rick Porcello of the Detroit Tigers on June 7th at Comerica Park. This milestone hit, Abreufs 465th career double, was right down the third base line deep into left field. The 35 year-old 6f foot 210 lb left-handed outfielder is the fifth player from Venezuela to join the elite 2000 hit club. The 12-year veteranfs career average is .300 with a .405 on-base and .498 slugging percentage. Bobby is also known as a very durable player who has played more than 150 games for 11 years in a row and is expected to become only the 4th player to go for 12 years consequtive years.

Abreu started swinging a SSK bat three years ago when he received complimentary bats from a company representative in New York. Bobby really loved the feel and balance of his SSK hard rock maple bats and was very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. He demands very strict quality control including precise weight balance, specific barrel length/diameter and his favorite handle and grip shape. His most comfortable weight is 32 oz. for bat lengths of 34h or 34.5h.

SSK Corporation imports North American hard rock maple billets and has been manufacturing bats for select big league players for years. Our wood bat factory in Japan uses a cutting edge machine with a sophisticated computer control system. Every bat is carefully turned to meet each playerfs requirements and thoroughly inspected by a veteran craftsman before they are air shipped directly to the players.

We at SSK sincerely congratulate Bobby as he joins Major League Baseball's 2,000-hit club and are sure he will keep hitting toward the next milestone in the near future. Abareu is one of 60 big players swinging SSK bats in the game.
