Carlos Guillen signs SSK bat contract.

Three-time All Star, 12-year veteran, Carlos Guillen from Venezuela has joined his long time buddy Bobby Abreu in the SSK big league offence club. Abreu, who started swinging a SSK bat last season, influenced the 33-year old switch-hitter. Guillenfs career batting average is .290 with 572 RBIfs and 1173 hits; his slugging percentage is .448 and on-base percentage is .360. The fan-friendly third baseman of the Detroit Tigers really loved the feel and balance of the SSK maple bats and was very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship.

The 6f 1h foot – 215 lb Detroit Tiger sluggerfs favorite bat specification is a 34h – 31.5 oz. hard rock pro maple bat in either a natural finish, or with a solid black barrel and natural handle. He also likes the SSK signature bullet logo, which was designed to represent the shape of the gSh in the SSK logo, and also exemplifies the speed and strength of SSK products and the forward thinking philosophy of the company.

Carlos was selected as a member of the Venezuelan National Team to participate in the 2nd World Baseball Classic tournament. SSK has two additional MLB Venezuelan players under contract including Bobby Abreu (OF-Los Angeles Angels), Jose Lopez (2B-Seattle Mariners), all of whom will be swinging SSK bats during this tournament. Venezuela is considered heavily favored to become champions this year under the manager of Luis Sojo.

We at SSK wholeheartedly welcome Carlos Guillen to SSKfs staff of Professional Advisors. We wish him well in the 2009 season, as he seeks to bring a World Series Ring to the well-deserving city of Detroit for the first time since 1984, when Alan Trammell (S/S), (then SSK advisory staff member) was elected Most Valuable Player of the Series.
